Social Groups

PARTY - Panhandle Area Reform Temple Youth

There’s a PARTY and you’re invited! Teens ages ages 13-18 are welcome to join our teen programming, where they can be leaders in the congregation and engage in many way. Teens gather for learning and relational time during which they explore issues important and interesting to them. These include friendships, relationships, peer pressure, body image and current events. Teens also have an opportunity to attend recreational, social, and social justice-focused events which will enable them to create, develop, and foster friendships – as well as deepen their engagement and commitment to the Jewish community.

Madrichim (Teacher's Assistants)

This program develops useful leadership skills through working as assistant teachers and specialists in program areas. The Madrichim undergo training that includes learning how to work with younger students and developing professional and organization skills. The Madrichim are expected to act as role models to the youth community.

Sisterhood

The Sisterhood is an auxiliary of the Temple Israel congregation, affiliated with the Women of Reform Judaism. Our Sisterhood was founded in 1929. We support the Temple Israel congregation and our community through able hands, fundraising, social events, and community action.

Membership is open to any person who is committed to the goals and objectives of Sisterhood, our congregation, and the Jewish community. The objectives of Sisterhood are to foster and further the highest ideals of Judaism as expressed through the synagogue; to promote friendship among members; and, in cooperation with the congregation, to be a mentor for religious, social, and educational activities.

Ongoing Sisterhood activities include operating the Spinning Dreidel Gift Shop and holding book club gatherings, Rosh Chodesh events, and Tikkun Olam projects.

Yours with fun, friendship, and persistence,
Temple Israel Sisterhood
